From the Archives: Propinquity

I’m a bit of a toy collector and part of the fun is photographing them when I get a chance.

Inspired by photographer Geoff Spear, and Pixar artist/toy collector Jeff Pidgeon, I decided to keep an ongoing series of photos of my toys, figures, statues and other collectibles.

A few years ago I decided to call these photos my “Propinquity” series.

Photographs taken with either a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with a variety of lenses, or a Canon SD1000 point-and-shoot.

Some sketches of faces and characters over the years.

The first image was done on Autodesk Sketchbook Pro with a Wacom Intuos. The final two in a sketchbook with pencil, PITT pens, TRIA markers, and whiteout pens.
